Description

The 17th Pyongyang International Film Festival, under the ideal of the independence, peace and friendship, was held in grand style in Pyongyang, the capital of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea from 20th to 27th, September 2019. In this festival, there participated about 100 participants of 37 delegations from 12 countries including China, Russia and Germany. Among 400 films from various film studios of 33 countries, the Festival Organizing Committee selected 98 pieces of films from 21 countries in keeping with the ideal of the festival and organized International Jury with famous film workers from Russia, China, Sweden, Cuba and DPR Korea and made a fair judgment. As a result, Iranian Feature Film “Orange Days” was awarded the Grand Prix at 17th Pyongyang International Film Festival. During the festival “Korean Film Show”, “Chinese Film Days”, “Russian Film Days” and “Indian Film Days” were successfully opened under the great concern of Pyongyang citizens. At the closing ceremony of the 17th Pyongyang International Film Festival, reflecting unanimous desire of all participants, a letter to the respected comrade Kim Jong Un was adopted. During the festival which was held under the great concern of our Party and the government, world film workers could introduce their films showing their excellent culture. During their stay at Pyongyang they enjoyed the grand mass gymnastics and artistic performance and visited several places of Pyongyang and witnessed the true feature of our country where the miracles are created day by day under the wise leadership of the respected comrade Kim Jong Un.
